The Morrison government has introduced an anti-worker Anti-Benefits Bill into Parliament.
This Bill will smash workers entitlement funds and will rip away vital benefits from tens of Thousands of workers.
Worker Benefit Funds and Industry Schemes protect workplace entitlements from workers.
Established in industries where insolvency and redundancy are commonplace holding the entitlements in benefit funds ensures that the workers’ money is there if and when they need it.
The Bill will implement regulation and restrictions on worker benefit funds which are unlike anything in the corporate world.
Worker benefit funds use their surplus funds to invest in training and support services for their members. Without access to these funds, the Morrison government puts benefits for tens of thousands of families at risk. These benefits pay for things like funeral cover, ambulance cover, suicide prevention, drug and alcohol counselling and more.

Brad’s wife and two daughters were mowed down by a drunk driver who had run a red light. His wife broke her back in several places and his daughters were badly injured. Hardship payments from the industry scheme surplus allowed Brad to take months off work so he could care for his family while they recovered. Bill fell off a ladder at home and was feeling dazed and experiencing memory issues. When paramedics arrived they were concerned he had a spinal or neck injury, and so they arranged to have him helicoptered to the Alfred Hospital for immediate medical attention; a service which came with a $14,000 ambulance bill which was paid for with industry scheme surplus.
